Brownsmith field notes

How We Use It

We use Gitea when a person or small team wants private source control without carrying the weight of a much larger engineering platform, we give Codex a narrow repository token and an isolated runner so it can propose and test changes without receiving authority over every project on the server. A local Gitea instance is useful for learning the backup and restore path and testing automation safely, Brownsmith can then provide a production server with protected branches and repositories and database backups that are restored together instead of merely assumed to work.
