The number of distinct label-value combinations produced by logs, metrics, or traces.
What It Means
High-cardinality telemetry can make monitoring expensive or slow when labels contain unbounded values such as user IDs. Instrumentation should preserve diagnostic value without creating uncontrolled dimensions.
